Earlier in the summer, we picked up a ripped and torn copy of a book of photographs by R.S. Magowan called Dublin and Cork. The book was published through Spring Books, London in 1961. We featured 5 images in our Dublin post (view here) and now we have 11 more scanned from the Cork chapter.

  1. Take note of the beautiful railings surrounding the court house in Cork beforeally the judiciary and the legal profession had them removed so they could park their cars, mind you I question the legality of parking there.

  2. I was of the opinion that, the removal of the railings, were for health & safety reasons, as well as an improved aesthetic appearance. Parking was, I understand, discretional, depending on Garda presence.
