First issue of Sunday World with Jeananne Crowley on the cover. I don’t have the actual paper. This scan is from a late 1980s school book called “The Modern World in evidence”.

  1. The Sunday World in its 40 years has been the guide to holidays such as “Christmas”, “Easter”, Mid term or even Summer when you want to what was fashion, food, drink or even entertaimeant that was on.

  2. Christmas editions of the Sunday World would be out from Friday, Saturday, December 23rd & 24th when Christmas day falls on Sunday like in 1977, 1983, 1988, 1994, 2005 and 2011. There was a bit laugh any plans to Christmas editions of the Sunday World online soon.

  3. Anyone remember the recurring cartoon they ran in the 80’s poking fun at the Fianna Gael/ Labour coalition? It had Garret Fitzgerald, Barry Noonan and Dick Spring depicted as a scaly three headed dinosaur type monster called GarBarDick. No one I’ve spoken to seems to remember it.
