The programme was for the premiere of The Gathering by Edna O’Brien in October, 1974, at the Abbey Theatre, Dublin 1. The director of the play, Barry Davis directed many plays and TV dramas.  He died, aged 54, in 1990 and had been married to Brenda Fricker.

  1. The artistic director, Tomas MacAnna, was a Dundalk man. Came from Vincent Avenue. His sister was head teacher in a large school not a million miles away (channeling Rory now) from where you grew up. Just sayin’ 🙂
