In 1999, a 6 month ban was imposed on In Dublin magazine by the Censorship of Publications Board on the grounds that some of the adverts in the magazine might reasonably be taken to be for prostitution services.
Much to the annoyance of the Censorship Board, the publishers of In Dublin then went ahead and produced its next issue but launched it as a ‘new’ magazine called Dublin.
