Jeans only became widespread in Ireland in the 1970s. If you look through any Irish pop or entertainment magazine from 40 years ago, you’ll find at least one full colour page advertising the dynamic lifestyle of denim.
Dingos were made in Co. Louth. I’ve scanned in a selection of magazine adverts from 1971 to 1973. Irish manufactured Jeans on the top, followed by adverts from their international competition (Wrangler was popular at my school back then) and finishing with an advert for O’Connors shop in Dublin from 1971.
