My mum was a big Dickie Rock fan. She would sometimes use the expression ‘spit on me Dickie’ in reference to him. I never knew what she meant.

God the innocence of it all…I remember sitting in the back of my Dad’s brand new (second hand) Morris Minor, KZD 99 and waving out the back window to Dickie, as my Mum went berserk with excitement on the passenger seat.
