This is indeed a delicate situation and should be handled accordingly…although he is indeed ‘old enough to be your father’, history is littered with examples of such ‘February-September’ relationships that have sustained and prospered as both participants mature and grow old together in harmony and respect…a practical suggestion might be to set him a little test to see if he’s serious about all this and willing to make a sacrifice on your behalf, to prove his affection and intentions towards you are genuine…
So…why not ask him if he’s willing to give up presenting ‘Top of the Pops’???
